We are very proud to announce that Mel Wightman, one of the DNA Sequencing Service staff, has been awarded the Scottish Institute of Biology prize for "the best Applied Science HNC student in Scotland 2007" for the HNC qualification that she gained at Dundee College earlier this year. Mel studied for the qualification part time over the last two years.

Mel received her award at a special event hosted at Our Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh, attended by members of the college and Scottish Executive. We are sure that you will all want to join us in congratulating Mel for doing so well in her HNC course and for receiving this prestigious award. Here are some pictures of Mel receiving her award:
